Welcome
After a lifetime spanning over seven decades, my wife, Eva, and I have entered what would have to be the last chapter of our lives — however long or short that chapter will be.
At the same time, we are embarking on a new lifestyle — namely, becoming a part of a retirement village on the bay side of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
There are of course various retirement living options, including a smaller home, an apartment or unit, a townhouse, or even a mobile home. After careful consideration of each, we have chosen to enter a retirement village.
Purpose for this Website
Our website purpose is to share our journey into retirement village living, focusing on insights about life, and end of life, that we are inevitably gleaning and learning from – and becoming transformed by them.
May the experiences and insights we offer lead to understanding, and become an inspiration, for other seniors contemplating a move to a retirement village.
In creating this website, our intent is to simply share our direct experiences with no intention to promote any particular retirement village — in reality, there are many first-class retirement villages, both in Australia and other countries in the western world with which we’re familiar with.
Through a set of completely fortuitous circumstances — one could aptly use the expression “by pure grace” — we have been led to being accepted at the Renaissance Retirement Village in Victoria Point, Queensland, Australia.
